Tandroy Bible Printing

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”  (Psalm 119:105)

“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?  How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? (Romans 10:14)

 Description of this Project:

The goal now, after the completion of the translation of the Bible into the Tandoy dialect (see the project page on Missionary Steve Lellelid for information on the translation of the Bible) is to have the Bible printed, shipped to Madagascar from the printing house of the China Christian Council in Nanjing, China, and then distributed throughout the Tandroy people in southern Madagascar.

Activities reports:

The distribution of the 19,000 Bibles in the Tandroy dialect will consist of 7 teams, two men to each team for security reasons, carrying the required number of books (350) by bus or oxcart to a central location in each area.  Then at Market Day in each community the team members will meet with officials to set a date for them to meet with the elders of the area.  At that meeting the Bibles will be presented and verses read from the Bible written in the Tandroy dialect to show the wonderful work of Jesus Christ as our Savior and God. Then a plan will be further developed for distribution within the community.

Amount of request:

The total cost of the printing, shipping and distribution of the Bibles is estimated to be $100,000.00.

To date, January 2017, we have received $78,000.00.  For more recent updates, please contact Friends of Madagascar Mission (FOMM).
