The Friends of Madagascar Mission Board of Directors met on Thursday, November 21st for the fall budget approval meeting. Our Finance Committee has developed a very detailed process for receiving the yearly requests from all of the mission programs we support in Madagascar. These requests are reviewed, the 2025 budget is assembled, and finally approved at the board meeting. The 2025 budget is a 10% increase from the 2024 budget. Interestingly, the budget increases since 2021 show a 48% increase in the FOMM annual budget. This is a result of the generosity of FOMM’s donors who have seen the vision of FOMM to be a faithful partner in mission in Madagascar.
We now divide our programs into three categories:
Evangelism
This is the driving purpose of FOMM’s mission work and will always remain our priority, sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Children in Peril
There is an estimate of nearly a million children in Madagascar being “street children” and many more living an conditions that threaten a quality of life. As a result we are gathering many organizations that are struggling for financial support into FOMM’s support. These organizations include children’s programs for the blind, the deaf, the homeless, the girls threatened with sexual abuse, prisoners, etc. Saving one of these precious children by the act of God’s love and care is worth our effort and time.
Development
FOMM is involved in drilling water wells and creating water distribution systems in cities and villages, teaching better agricultural methods to raise food (which includes drip irrigation systems), and creating vocational opportunities in the prison system so inmates will have a trade to help them make a living upon release from prison.
God is blessing FOMM in immeasurable ways, and we are so thankful for all our donors who support us financially and with prayer. Thank you!
