While Friends of Madagascar Mission’s purpose is to help the Malagasy Lutheran Church share the Gospel, we also expand into helping the people with their daily life: Agriculture (seeds, water in arid regions, etc.); Prison Ministry (food, medicine, Bibles, vocational training, etc.); Hunger Programs (to provide food in a very poor country, always one of the world’s poorest nations) and Education Programs that we call “Children in Peril”, helping poor children to have a future with Christ’s love. One of these programs is about helping young girls to have a successful educational opportunity. It is called the Nofy i Androy Program. It was begun by a woman who was a mother at a very early age which meant possibly never completing her education. This program, now with over 400 girls enrolled, assists girls with their education, to finish high school and even go on to the university or a trade school. It is growing beyond of hopes and dreams and expanding to a second town and possibly more in the immediate future.
For $200.00 a year you may provide a girl a bright and positive future. As a sponsor of a girl you will receive the name of a girl and a short biography on her life. In addition you will receive two letters each year from the girl about herself, her education progress, and thanking you for helping her to succeed.
